From Tuscia to Seoul Calcio FC: Matteo Cerica's Journey in Football

Matteo Cerica, a UEFA B Licensed coach with a rich background in Italian football, has carved a unique path for himself, bringing his passion and expertise to diverse corners of the globe.

His journey began in the picturesque landscapes of Viterbo, Italy, where he cut his teeth assisting Pietro Barbaranelli, a former Torino youth player, at Calcio Tuscia. Two years later, it became more challenging as Cerica was addressed as the head manager of the football school group of the club. Those early experiences starting in 2007 ignited a passion for coaching, nurturing young talent, and instilling a love for the beautiful game triggered his coaching journey, allowing him to adapt their ideology.

Coach Cerica espouses a philosophy of 'liquid football,' emphasizing tactical flexibility and adaptability. Cerica's expertise grew from the vibrant football scene in Italy and was further honed through challenging yet rewarding experiences in Canada and China, consistently adapting to new environments as follows:

1. 2012-2013 (Real Teverina). First team coach with Riccardo Celleno. highglited by the promotion to the 7th division and their involment with the women futsal team.

2. 2013-2017. Director of the football school and first team head coach at G.S.D. Pianoscarano.

3. 2017-2018 (Virtus Pilastro 7th division). Collaborating with Andrea Celestini as a Match Analyst.

4. 2018. Challenger Sport in Canada and head coach of women futsal team in Gallese United in Italy.

5. 2019-2022 (China): Inter Academy Sichuan in Chengdu and

Raysports in Guangzhou.

6. 2022 (Korea): Dogok Academy until the end of 2023.

In 2024, Cerica embarked on a new and exciting chapter by founding Seoul Calcio FC in South Korea. This ambitious project aims to bridge the gap between Italian and Korean football cultures, offering high-quality training programs, promoting Italian football methodologies, and fostering a strong sense of community.
